Business Problem
Fairfax Transfer & Storage had a website built with one of those do-it-yourself services. When they signed up with Big Blue Bear Consulting to increase their business via on-line marketing, that do-it-yourself website became a liability. Big Blue Bear needed a way to add content easily, integrate with Google Analytics, push articles to their Facebook page automatically, etc. They turned to us to help.
Solution
We created a new website for them, using the open source content management system Joomla!. They picked a theme that matched their branding, and we customized it for their needs. Very quickly they had a new website with far more functionality than their old one.
Content
By using a user friendly content management system, we allowed FT&S and Big Blue Bear to easily manage content via Joomla!'s administrative area. If you can use a word processor, you can write articles and pages in Joomla!. We also created a slideshow of images on the home page to reinforce concepts that FT&S wanted to promote, such as professionalism and customer service. Finally, we added a way for the staff to easily add customer testimonials that are displayed on the site.
Analysis and Statistics
We installed an extension (a.k.a. plug-in) that allows the site's traffic to be tracked and analyzed by Google Analytics, providing FT&S and Big Blue Bear with useful information about which pages are getting the best results for their marketing campaigns.
Contact
We also created a contact form, protected from spam by reCAPTCHA from Google. This allows customers and potential customers to contact FT&S without overwhelming their administrative mailboxes with a lot of junk.
